Summary
Paact is designed with privacy at its core. All your family's data (child profiles, challenges, rewards) stays on your device. We collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the app experience, but no personal information is ever transmitted.
Data Collection
Paact does not collect any personal information. Specifically:
- No account creation is required
- No email addresses, names, or contact details are sent anywhere
- No cookies are used
- No advertising identifiers are collected
Anonymous Usage Analytics
Paact uses PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics service, to collect anonymous usage data. This helps us understand how the app is used and improve the experience. The data collected includes:
- App events (e.g., which screens are visited, which features are used)
- Onboarding completion rates
- General app usage patterns
This data is anonymous and does not include any personal information such as names, child profiles, or challenge/reward content. Analytics data is processed by PostHog on servers located in the European Union.
Data Stored on Your Device
Paact stores the following data locally on your device to function properly:
- Child profiles — first name, chosen avatar, and color preference
- Challenges and rewards — titles, emoji icons, and star values you create
- Star balance and history — a record of stars earned and spent
- Parental PIN — stored securely in the device keychain (iOS) or encrypted storage (Android)
- App preferences — language selection and onboarding status
This data is never transmitted outside your device. It is not backed up to any cloud service by Paact itself (standard device backups through iCloud or Google may include app data depending on your device settings).
Internet Access
Paact works fully offline for all core features. The only network requests made are for anonymous usage analytics (see above), which are sent when a connection is available.
Children's Privacy
Paact is designed for use by families with children. No personal data leaves the device and no accounts are created. Anonymous analytics data contains no personally identifiable information. The app complies with children's privacy regulations (COPPA, GDPR-K). Parents have full control over all data stored within the app.
Data Deletion
All data can be deleted at any time by:
- Removing a child profile within the app (deletes all associated data)
- Uninstalling the app (removes all locally stored data)
Third-Party Services
Paact uses the following third-party services:
- PostHog (posthog.com) — Anonymous usage analytics. PostHog processes data on EU-based servers. No personal information is transmitted.
- RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) — Subscription management for in-app purchases. RevenueCat processes purchase transactions through Apple's App Store. No personal data beyond what is required for purchase processing is collected.
No advertising or tracking services are integrated.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
